PCS Awards 2026
On 22 July 2026, the Potato Certification Service (PCS) proudly recognised outstanding achievements within the South African seed potato industry during the PCS Awards Evening, held as part of the Seed Potato Grower's Forum and Congress.
These awards celebrate growers whose commitment to quality, innovation and excellence continues to strengthen the seed potato industry.

🏆 Bayer Seed Potato Grower of the Year 2026
Winner: B054 | Sirkel N Landgoed | Mr Rudi Heinlein
Presented to the grower who achieved the highest overall quality performance in certified seed potato production based on results across the past three production seasons, reflecting consistent excellence throughout the certification process. 
🏆 PCS Hat Trick Award 2026
Winner: B054 | Sirkel N Landgoed | Mr Rudi Heinlein
Presented in recognition of the exceptional achievement of producing the highest quality seed potatoes over a six-year period, resulting in winning the Bayer Seed Grower of the Year Award on three consecutive occasions.
🌱 PCS Rising Star Award 2026
Winner: B073 | The Clarence (Pty) Ltd | Mr Phophi Simon Raletjane
Recognises a grower entering the seed potato industry who has consistently produced high-quality seed potatoes as a new entrant. Selection was confirmed through an analysis of the PCS certification database.
🌟 PCS Maverick Award 2026
Winner: B008 | Potato Seed Production | Mr Jakkie Mellet
Recognises a grower who has consistently demonstrated exceptional technical expertise by producing a wide range of potato varieties across multiple seed generations while maintaining outstanding quality.

Winner: N162 & N163 | Ivanhoe Farming Company and Ivanhoe Farming Co. (Pty) Ltd | Mr John Campbell
Recognises a grower whose continued commitment to excellence has resulted in the consistent production of exceptional quality seed potatoes for more than 30 years.
