Webinar: From Standard to Practice: UNECE Seed Potato Standard (S-1) – 16 March 2026

The webinar took place successfully on March 16, 2026, hosted by the World Potato Congress Inc. in collaboration with the UNECE Specialized Section on Standardization of Seed Potatoes.

Over 130 attendees from 42 countries (including 15% from South Africa – see graph below) joined the global discussion, underscoring the critical role of high-quality seed potato systems worldwide.

The expert panel, featuring South Africa’s André Wessels (Potato Certification Service) among others, explored the revised UNECE S-1 Standard.

This essential framework benefits producers, traders, certification bodies, and the entire potato value chain.
