Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape's landscape is extremely diverse, with the western interior that is largely arid Karoo, where the east region is well-watered and green.

The region is not a prominent seed potato growing region and currently only one registered seed grower resides in the Kakamas area.  Seed potatoes are grown in two seasons, the first planting starts in January to February to be harvested in June up to September.  The second planting occurs in September to October to be harvested in December to January.
